I love the simplicity of God’s Word. Why do we make it so difficult? He gave us the basics.
Why do we try to change what His Word says?
This morning, I was reading from Acts 1 – very simple – Jesus was ascending to heaven and He gave a simple reminder to His Followers:
Acts 1:8 – But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (ESV)
How does one witness today without power? How could some of the gifts of the Holy Spirit end at the death of the Apostle John?
Jesus said, “Wait. Wait. Wait. Don’t go out until the Holy Spirit has come upon you.”
Two main points come into focus:
- You will receive power
- You will be my witnesses
My question? How do I witness without the power of the Holy Spirit coming upon me?
The apostles were not able to get the message to all the world. So how do we get the message out without power?
My God is BIG.
I leave a song with you today. Believe. Expect. Share.
