Hovering

Hover boards.  The new rage!

Hover

My granddaughter, Savanna received a hover board for Christmas.  I am amazed at how well she maneuvers in the house on it.

The first thing that came to my mind at the time – Mall Cop.  What a hilarious movie that was.

So what does it mean to “hover?”

  1. to hang fluttering or suspended in the air.
  2. to keep lingering about.
  3. to remain in an uncertain or irresolute state; wavier.
  4. computers. to place a pointer over an area of a screen without cling or tapping.
  5. savanna hovering over the family.

As I opened God’s Word yesterday morning (the first day of the year), my eyes fell immediately upon the following verse:

Genesis 1:2 – Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
(NIV)

Before time, the Spirit of God was “hovering” over the waters.

My mind can hardly wrap around that.  What would it look like for the Spirit of God to “hover?”  I found an image on Pinterest – a prophetic drawing of the Holy Spirit.

It basically comes down to the fact – that I can only imagine.

Holy Spirit Hovering over the Waters

Now, the Holy Spirit of God lives within me!  How do I wrap my mind around that?

He is hovering within me.

Music.  Healing.  Soothing. Refreshing. Hope. Love.

My song today:

Holy Spirit

Rest in Him today.  Glory in Him today.  Be brave in Him today.
