Why do people hesitate to believe that God is really speaking to them?

One of the main reasons is because of fear.  

The fear that others will think that you are crazy.  Or even arrogant.

There is no doubt in my mind that our enemy doesn’t want us to believe that God still speaks to us.

There is a story in the book of John – John 9 about a man who was blind and Jesus healed him.  Oh how the Pharisees went crazy with this one!

Hatred!  Jealousy!  Doubt!  Hesitation!

John 9:29 – “We know that God spoke to Moses, but as for this fellow, we don’t even know where he comes from.”  (NIV)

This fellow mentioned was Jesus!

Do you hesitate to believe that God speaks to you?  Have you ever pondered why you hold back?

God speaks in many ways to His Children.  Why would we hesitate and say that He didn’t?  Could it be the fear of man?

I have experienced God speaking to me in various ways.

I went through periods of time where I hesitated – I held back.  My main reason to hold back was the fear of man.  They will think I am crazy.

When I shared, people would come against me – calling me all kinds of names.

My question for you today:  Why would you not want to hear the voice of God? Don’t reject Him.  Don’t reject His Holy Spirit.  Seek Him today and ask Him to teach you how to hear His Voice.

If you truly want to know Him – He will reveal Himself to you.

Today I ran across a saying by Lily Tomlin:

“Why is it that when we speak to God we are said to be praying, but when God speaks to us we are said to be schizophrenic?”

Believe in Him. Discover a new way that God speaks to you today.  Reach out to Him.
