The Joyful Shout! Have you ever given a joyful shout in honor of Adonai?

There are many stories throughout the Holy Bible that tells us about the joyful shout – the clangoring of trumpet sound. These shouts could be heard from far away and at times would literally shake the earth. Adonai became known throughout the earth during these shouts!

Today, our Scripture is found in Psalm 89:15-18:

How happy are the people who know the joyful shout!
They walk in the light of your presence, Adonai.
They rejoice in your name all day
and are lifted up by your righteousness,
for you yourself are the strength in which they glory.
Our power grows by pleasing you,
for our shield comes from Adonai —
our king is from the Holy One of Isra’el. (CJB)

The words that touched my heart today are “for our shield comes from Adonai.” He is a shield about us. When we stay within His boundaries, we are safe. We are secure.

Heavenly Father, I stand in awe of your protection over us – your guidance that shows us the way to stay connected to you. It is only when we decide to step outside the boundaries you have setup for us, that our lives become endangered. Help us to stay within those boundaries – that shield of protection. May we walk in the light of your presence, Adonai. I love you, Lord. I ask this in Christ Jesus’ name, Amen.
