Unfolding God’s Word – Day 15

God is our home. He is our dwelling place. He is our protection.

We have reached Book Four of Psalms that contains 17 Psalms (90-106) also know as the Reign of God section. I have discovered many of my favorite Scriptures within these pages of God’s Word.

This is a prayer of Moses. He reminds the people that the Lord has been their home through all generations. Before Creation, He was God. He is God in our Time Zone for we are stuck in time now. And to the future eternity, He is God.

He is my hiding place

Even though we are restricted in time, God is not. He is eternal.

We are given this treasure, this nugget of gold to hang on to – to remember He will always be our home. In all the cray-cray – in all the chaos, He is God. He is Adonai.

Psalm 90:1-6:
Lord, through all the generations
you have been our home!

Before the mountains were born,
before you gave birth to the earth and the world,
from beginning to end, you are God.

You turn people back to dust, saying,
“Return to dust, you mortals!”
For you, a thousand years are as a passing day,
as brief as a few night hours.
You sweep people away like dreams that disappear.
They are like grass that springs up in the morning.
In the morning it blooms and flourishes,
but by evening it is dry and withered. (NLT)

What is your prayer for today?

Heavenly Father, You are indeed my hiding place. You are my home. You are my protection. Without You, I would not be able to survive in the cray-cray that consumes my world. I pray for those who are struggling daily to stay afloat, to stay safe and secure in the chaos that permeates our atmosphere. Father, we can’t keep going the way we are going – consumed by hatred and deception. We must find a stable ground to stand upon and without You that is impossible. We desperately need You. I love you, Lord. I ask this in Christ Jesus’ name, amen.
