I love finding little treasures in my time alone with the my Heavenly Father in the mornings. It is like a scavenger hunt each day. But today, I struck gold!

It’s about walking with God! It’s about the largeness of small things! It’s fresh manna!
During my walkthrough of the Book of Psalms, sometimes I am led to other Scripture and that is where I find my new treasure.
Have you ever heard of Enoch? He is the man in the Bible that is known for walking with God.
Genesis 5:21-24:
When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah. After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for another 300 years, and he had other sons and daughters. Enoch lived 365 years, walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him. (NLT)
He was the man who walked with God in close fellowship and then one day, he was no more. He just disappeared because God took him home! I have always been fascinated with that story.

But today, I discovered one more link to Enoch. As I have mentioned, this year, I have been studying Jewish history at http://www.chabad.org and I have found many new little treasures. And today, I discovered something new about Enoch.
Do you know what Enoch’s occupation was? It really did have something to do with walking.
Enoch was a shoemaker! It was said that even though he had a mundane job, he was never distracted from serving God. Children were taught “that with every stitch that he brought about a further degree of harmony with the spiritual spheres.”
It reminds me of another Scripture that we have read over the years and it is found in Colossians 3:23:
“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” (NLT)
Joy! There is joy in the largeness of small things. Little things matter.
What has God given for you to do today? Don’t miss it!
Going to share a song today! Look for reasons to share a smile today! I know! I know! You get out and about with a mask on – how will others know you are smiling? Get creative! I have!
Heavenly Father, Oh how we miss seeing others’ smiles! Our faces are covered and its hard to spread the joy! But give us ways and thoughts to get those smiles out to others today. Help us to remember the largeness of small things! Little things matter. I love you, Lord. I ask this in Christ Jesus’ name, amen.
Thank you for this! It really started my Saturday off with a smile!
