A Vow of Integrity

I can remember a time when “Integrity” was valued. It was a character that most people strived to reveal in their daily lives. And yet today, “Integrity” is not a valued characteristic any longer.

We have seen deception and chaos placed right out in front of us for all to see. It has become acceptable to lie, to cheat, to deceive in order to get your way.

It takes one person standing up, and saying, “I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.”

It will take another person standing up and saying, “I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar.”

When will we hate crooked dealings?

I want to see integrity again. I want to see encouragement again. I want to see the “ganging up” against a person and judging them by the deceit and lies that surface daily on social media stopped.

When was the last time you did a self-check on your own behavior? Your character? Your integrity?

When was the last time you saw the echo of the Father’s Heart in your community?

Psalm 101
I will sing of your love and justice, Lord. I will praise you with songs.
I will be careful to live a blameless life—when will you come to help me?
I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.
I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar.
I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them.
I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil.
I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.
I will search for faithful people to be my companions.
Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me.
I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence.
My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the Lord from their grip.
(NLT)

What is integrity?

The quality of begin honest and having strong moral principle; moral uprightness. The state of being whole and undivided. (Oxford Dictionaries)

In the Hebrew it means “Perfect” and is found in Strong’s Concordance – OT: 8549 tamiym (taw-meem’) meaning truth – integrity

Heavenly Father, I am reminded once again about integrity as I read from your Treasured Words this morning. When was the last time we sought to seek your ways and your thoughts and to heed your words of kindness and judgment? Help me, help others to seek to send out the echo of the Father’s Heart into our communities once again. I love you, Lord. I ask this in Christ Jesus’ name, amen.

Echo the Father’s Heart
