Today we journey through Revelation 5:1 – 6:8
A lot of information is revealed to us in these Scriptures. Three views start here of what the Redeemed believe to be true. I am not going in that directions because in the end it doesn’t really matter. What matters is that we have been redeemed by the Redeemer. That we have been striving to live for Him and with Him continually giving thanks to Him for what he did for each one of us. That is what will matter.
I am sharing the Scriptures from the Complete Jewish Bible (CJB). My purpose being that so much of the reading in these next chapters needs the Old Testament language and symbols to truly understand what is happening. One thing that I will note here is that after Chapter three, there is no long a mention of the Church – it goes back to the Jewish people. I leave these thoughts with you to choose your ending – will it be Pre-Tribulation; Mid-Tribulation, or Post-Tribulation? But I encourage you to not waste too much time on those topics, but instead, heed the words written below:

Revelation 5:1-6:8
Next I saw in the right hand of the One sitting on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals; and I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” But no one in heaven, on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or look inside it. I cried and cried, because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or look inside it. One of the elders said to me, “Don’t cry. Look, the Lion of the tribe of Y’hudah, the Root of David, has won the right to open the scroll and its seven seals.” Then I saw standing there with the throne and the four living beings, in the circle of the elders, a Lamb that appeared to have been slaughtered. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the sevenfold Spirit of God sent out into all the earth. He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of the One sitting on the throne. When he took the scroll, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders fell down in front of the Lamb. Each one held a harp and gold bowls filled with pieces of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people; and they sang a new song, “You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals; because you were slaughtered; at the cost of blood you ransomed for Godpersons from every tribe, language, people and nation. You made them into a kingdom for God to rule, cohanim to serve him; and they will rule over the earth.” Then I looked, and I heard the sound of a vast number of angels — thousands and thousands, millions and millions! They were all around the throne, the living beings and the elders; and they shouted out, “Worthy is the slaughtered Lamb to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and praise!” And I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth and on the sea — yes, everything in them — saying, “To the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb belong praise, honor, glory and power forever and ever!” The four living beings said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshipped.
Next I watched as the Lamb broke the first of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living beings say in a thundering voice, “Go!” I looked, and there in front of me was a white horse; its rider had a bow and was given a crown; and he rode off as a conqueror to conquer. When he broke the second seal, I heard the second living being say, “Go!” Another horse went out, a red one; and its rider was given the power to take peace away from the earth and make people slaughter each other. He was given a great sword. When he broke the third seal, I heard the third living being say, “Go!” I looked, and there in front of me was a black horse, and its rider held in his hand a pair of scales. Then I heard what sounded like a voice from among the four living beings say, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages! Six pounds of barley for the same price! But don’t damage the oil or the wine!” When he broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living being say, “Go!” I looked, and there in front of me was a pallid, sickly-looking horse. Its rider’s name was Death, and Sh’ol followed behind him. They were given authority to kill one-quarter of the world by war, by famine, by plagues and with the wild animals of the earth. (CJB)
A lot to explain – but you can read about it from the commentators. Remember, there are three views.
Christ Jesus is the only one who can open these seals. Today we saw four seals broken: A white horse to go out and conqueror. A red horse to take away peace from the earth. Then we will see people killing one another. Then a black horse comes with a pair of scales – that is bringing forth judgment upon the earth. To each one of us. Then the fourth seal is broken and a pale sickly horse appears with a rider named “Death.” And “Hell” follows him. They are given the authority to kill one-quarter of the world by war, famine, and by plagues.
This my dear friends is why you need to be part of the Redeemed. Christ Jesus is the Redeemer, but you must accept what He has to offer – Salvation.
I will end here today before we journey on to the next seals to be broken. This book mentioned is a scroll and as each seal is removed, we receive more information. Important information.
Heavenly Father, What excitement! What power! It is real! Father, may we heed your words as fine treasure. May we not cast aside Truth. What matters through all of this – is do I know Jesus Christ? Have I accepted His Free Gift of Salvation? Father, I pray that hearts will harken to these words and may the Holy Spirit woo them to Christ Jesus. When these days come – it will come quickly and we need to know what will happen. We need to be aware of the times. Thank you, Father for these words of Hope. I love you, Lord. I ask this in Christ Jesus’ name, amen.
