Throughout the morning watch hours, I spent much time wrestling – on my knees. I was in a conversation with Adonai and asking for wisdom – to help me understand what was going on in my Country.
It has always been the devil’s job to steal, to kill, and to destroy. He is on the prowl looking for ways to destroy us – to rip us apart.
My verse this morning during my devotional time is Ecclesiastes 1:14:
I have seen everything that is done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind. (ESV)
As I look back over some of the events of what has happened this week, my heart just breaks. The foolishness. Words flowing from our mouths like a tube of toothpaste. Words that cannot be taken back. The goal has been to let others know how we feel – many of the ways used have not been wise ones.
Then as I was enjoying my coffee and contemplating – I thought of a verse from many years ago – a family verse:
Joshua 24:15:
And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (ESV)
As a family, many years ago, we chose to serve the Lord. Yes, we made mistakes along the way. We have had to regroup many times – but we seem to always find our way back to the path – the path that leads us home to our Heavenly Father.
Then I was reminded of a verse from several years ago when I was struggling staying on the path with Him. The enemy was hitting fast and hard.
Jeremiah 6:16:
This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ (NIV)
I believe that many are stuck on this path at the crossroads – what will each one of us say? I will not walk in it. I will not stand in it. I will not kneel on it. I will not heed the voice of God.
How far are you willing to allow the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy?
What will the answer be for your household?
