Don’t. You. Know. Me?
Have you ever said those words? Astonished that another person had spent so much time with you and yet, still didn’t know who you are?
Maybe, someone has asked you those words.
Maybe in a world filled with relationships in “social media” only – just maybe, one would never have friends that truly knew who they were. Maybe this is why we struggle not only with relationships around us but also with a relationship with the Heavenly Father.

In our Scripture today, Jesus speaks out these words to Philip:
Philip spoke up, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be all that we need!”
Jesus replied, “Philip, I’ve been with you all this time and you still don’t know who I am? How could you ask me to show you the Father, for anyone who has looked at me has seen the Father. Don’t you believe that the Father is living in me and that I am living in the Father? Even my words are not my own but come from my Father, for he lives in me and performs his miracles of power through me. Believe that I live as one with my Father and that my Father lives as one with me – OR at least, believe because of the mighty miracles I have done.” – John 14:8-11
Don’t you know me? Don’t you care? Can you see me?
TIME. It takes time to get to know someone.
THOUGHT. It takes thought to know someone.
THANKSGIVING. It takes thanksgiving to keep those thoughts fresh in our minds about why we love being with someone.
Today, take time to think about Jesus and then give thanks that you know Him and always ask to know more about Him.
I pray the song for today truly blesses you. There is no greater gift in life then to truly know Jesus:
Points to Ponder:
- Have I truly desired to know Jesus?
- Has anyone ever asked me, “Don’t you know me?”
- If so, what was your response?
