Guarded Hearts

My heart is full this morning.  During this Lent Season 2018, God has opened up my heart to these beautiful Words found in the book of John – the last words spoken by Jesus to his followers before he went to the Cross.

Jesus gave his life for all of them.  Jesus gave his life for all of us.  Jesus gave his life for anyone willing to believe and trust in him.  And as an extra benefit, he has given all of us the opportunity to experience him.  To experience his love – his joy – his mercies – his grace – his home.

Heart Guard
Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life.

I pray that if you have journeyed with me over the past five weeks, that God has opened your eyes to some new experiences with him too.

Today we will look at the Word in John 17:11-16:

“Holy Father, I am about to leave this world to return and be with you, but my disciples will remain here. So I ask that by the power of your name, protect each one that you have given me, and watch over them so that they will be united as one, even as we are one.  While I was with these that you have given me, I have kept them safe by your name that you have given me. Not one of them is lost, except the one that was destined to be lost, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled. “But now I am returning to you so Father, I pray that they will experience and enter into my joyous delight in you so that it is fulfilled in them and overflows.  I have given them your message and that is why the unbelieving world hates them. For their allegiance is no longer to this world because I am not of this world. I am not asking that you remove them from the world, but I ask that you guard their hearts from evil, for they no longer belong to this world any more than I do.”  (TPT)

Two verses especially touched my heart this morning:

  • verse 13: I pray that they will experience and enter into my joyous delight in you so that it is fulfilled in them and overflows.
  • That you guard their hearts from evil.

Experience.  There is nothing in this world that compares to experiencing the Lord.  This is why the enemy fights so much to keep believers from believing in “experiences” here on earth.  Know his word – know his heart – experience him

Guarded Hearts.  Jesus says don’t remove them from this world, but protect them – guard their hearts from the evil one.  Allow them to be able to influence the world – the systems of the world – the 7 Mountains of the world.  These mountains need to be taken back in the name of Jesus for evil has come in to destroy.

May your hearts be full today.  Full of the joy of the Lord.

My song.  I pray that it blesses you today.  A Heart of worship.  May your heart be filled with worship and praise of our Heavenly Father.  Experience him.

Heart of Worship
