Sabbath.
If you are a child of God, you have heard the word Sabbath. And yet, it seems it is a misunderstood discipline.
I have heard and seen way too many arguments about this term. And somehow, the enemy has caused uproars in believers hearts over what is right and what is wrong.
I am on Day 75 in my journey of “100 Days To Brave,” and this is the word for my day.
Fortunately for me, I have a good understanding of the term “Sabbath.”

I have had to battle for my Sabbath. Being in ministry, so many believe that a Christian’s work is never done. You must keep going and you must do what everyone else thinks you need to be doing.
Brave people take a Sabbath. Brave people learn how to say no to somethings. Brave people need a Sabbath.
Sabbath is not intended to be stress related. It is intended to be rest related. Rest and Worship.
When I arise from a Sabbath moment – a couple of hours – or a full day of a rest related activity, I feel God’s love has washed over me. It has been a time of refreshment.
I would encourage you today to start discovering what a Sabbath time looks like for you.
One of my most simple Sabbath times is simply going outside and sitting on the porch in my hammock chair and just rest. I love hearing the birds singing. Sometimes I will take out a book and read and fall asleep. It may be 20 minutes. It may be for a couple of hours. But there is no technology involved! Just pure rest. And when I rise up from my chair – I have been washed in God’s love.
I know as a young mom, this seems impossible. But I also know that it is possible.
As a parent, we can also teach our children how to rest. It takes time, but it is possible.
Discover the discipline of rest – of Sabbath. You will never regret that you sought after this rest. Never.
My Song: I pray these words bring peace to your heart today. To know God’s Love at this level of Sabbath Rest is pure joy. Rest in Him today.
