Riding Upon the Clouds

Every time I see in the Scriptures the mention of the Lord riding upon the clouds, my heart starts beating faster – trying to imagine what that must look like.

Have there been days that He has been out swiftly moving about in the clouds and I was unaware?  Oh Lord, help me to not miss one moment of what you have to share with me.

I came across a verse about the clouds in my walk about in the book of Isaiah:

“Behold! The Lord Yahweh is riding on a swift-soaring cloud!”  – Isaiah 19:1

Have you ever looked up and seen swift-soaring clouds?  I have – what an unbelievable sight to behold.

Today, I am sharing with you an article I wrote four years ago about the clouds that the Lord rides upon.  Enjoy:

As I was sitting on my porch at our cabin in Montana this morning praising God, I looked up into the clouds and my heart leaped with joy at the thought – “He rides upon the clouds.”

I ran to get my camera to take a picture of such a beautiful image – reminding me of how God rides on those clouds above me.

Deuteronomy 33:26 – “There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty.” (NIV)

The Hebrew word, Jeshurun means “upright one.” It is a poetic name used to describe the children of God.

Look up and lift your hands up in praise to our God who rides upon the clouds in his majesty.

One day we will all see Jesus coming in all of his glory in the clouds to bring His children home.  On that day, we will be with Him for eternity.  Revelations 1:7 – “Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.”

Jesus in the Clouds

I have two songs that I am linking to my post today – take time to listen to them and be blessed.

One song is called “Days of Elijah” – I chose this one sung by the Marines on You Tube. It speaks of God riding on the clouds.

Days of Elijah

The next song is called “Midnight Cry.” If you have never heard this song before – it will bless your heart. It speaks of the day Jesus is coming back for His children.

Midnight Cry

If you don’t know Jesus as your Savior – seek Him this day to become your Lord and your Savior.

Father God, how blessed I am that you would point out the beautiful clouds and remind me that you ride on those clouds in all your glory. That you are always there to help me – to guide me. I praise you that one day soon Jesus will also come in all his glory to get His children and take them home. Father God, if there is one person today that reads this and doesn’t know Jesus as their Savior – I pray that they will cry out and ask Jesus to forgive their sins and that your Holy Spirit will give them the words to speak to ask Jesus into their hearts as their Lord and Savior. Praise you Daddy. I ask this in Jesus Christ’s name, amen.
