I have discovered over the years how words are tossed about as if they have no meaning. Or worse, we decide to change the meaning ourselves to fit what we are trying to do or to say.
There is one thing that never changes – God.
My posts will be a little different this year than in past years. God is challenging me to speak up and acknowledge who He is. And no, I am not a scholar. But I do linger in the Presence of Adonai.
And you must be patient with me as my Heavenly Father is – for I am in training. Learning when to speak up and when to be silent.
I have been in the Book of Malachi. It is a short book. This is the verse that stuck with me today:
Malachi 3:6: “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.” (ESV)
This verse was written to the children of Israel for they had not been honoring to the Lord. And because God does not change, the words ring true for us today too.
We change. But God never changes. He is the same today as he was yesterday, and as he will be in the future.
Hebrews 13:8 speaks of Jesus Christ as being the same always.
In our land today, we have those within leadership (some are hiding in the background), who are trying to destroy our land as we have known it. Evil is always trying to conquer Good.
Not once has the God of our Nation said that he has changed what he said originally. God did not once say that he loves evil and hates good! Not once! God will always hate evil and love good. ALWAYS!
A year ago, I wrote in my journal about the evil that was consuming our land. Like me, I am sure, that at that time, you felt that it couldn’t get any worse. And yet, today, I think that you will agree with me that it has!
I wrote a year ago, “The gates of hell are bursting to destroy our land – our people – our ways. These evil doers must be brought to the LIGHT and exposed.”
My heart was bursting at the seams a year ago, amazed at how much evil has consumed the land. And yet, I do not fear for God is in control. ALWAYS! God is in control.
It is in him that all treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden. (Colossians 2:3)
Father, I pray that you will continue to open my ears and my eyes to your wisdom and your knowledge. I pray that others will seek your knowledge and your ways also. Lord, we have sinned against you. You are calling us to repentance – not only personal repentance but also corporate repentance. May we heed your calling. May we seek you with all our hearts, our souls, and our minds. I ask this in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
The LORD is calling to us today; what will be our answer?
IF EVER – this is a post I wrote over a year ago. I would encourage you to read it today.
My Song: This is one of my favorite songs. I attended a concert where Michael Smith sang this song. Let me tell you, even this ole lady’s feet started dancing. There was a little girl sitting near me and she was dancing too! She looked over at me and smiled and we connected in praise and dance in honor of our Lord. Yes, the river is rising. Enjoy
