You alone are God
When I remember daily that Adonai is God alone my day goes better for me.
I look out into a sea of people hurting and many walking in hatred and corruption, it helps me understand why so many days are miserable for many. When we find that we have taken the wrong path, away from Him, we realize that we have not followed God’s Truths.
Scripture for today is found in Psalm 86:7-11:
In the day of my trouble I will call to you,
for you will answer me. Among the gods there is none like you, O Lord;
no deeds can compare with yours. All the nations you have made
will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to your name.
For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God. Teach me your way, O Lord,
and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
(NIV)
Yes, He alone is God.

Verse 11 is my focal point today: Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
Thy Way (your way) – OT:1870 derek (deh’=rek) a road trodden, course of life, mode of action
Walk – OT:1980 halak (haw-lak’) behave (self), follow, forward
In Thou Truth – OT:539 ’emeth (eh’-meth) contracted, certainty, trustworthiness, faithful
Are you walking in God’s Truth?
Is your heart undivided and do you revere God’s name?
Are we a nation that is walking with God?
Are we following God’s Ways or have we made our own paths?
Take time today to contemplate on these words; it’s important to know what journey we are on.
I am reminded today of the journey that the Israelites took from Egypt – out of captivity. It was a fairly short journey but because the people kept stumbling and following their own ways, they forgot truth. They stopped speaking truth at times and then just wondered around in the desert. They kept circling that mountain. Forty years.
Do we sometimes make our journeys longer than necessary out of stubbornness? Do we get caught up in the chaos that surrounds us and then start doubting God’s Ways?
I can’t answer for you; but I can answer for myself. It is important to arise everyday and take a look at my journey – evaluate my choices from the day before and make necessary adjustments in order to continue on God’s path.
Father God, at times we become confused and we lose our way. Darkness tends to surround us and it makes it harder for us to see your Truth. Remind me daily that You are God alone. May my heart be teachable and undivided in my calling. May I always seek your Ways – your Truths. Remind me when I stumble that I have taken my focus off of you and show me how to put that focus right back on you. I love you, Lord. I ask this in Christ Jesus’ name, Amen.
