FEAR. FEAR IS CONSUMING. And fear is crippling. We become afraid to move about for fear of destruction.

Psalm 91:5-8:
You will not fear the terrors of night
or the arrow that flies by day,
or the plague that roams in the dark,
or the scourge that wreaks havoc at noon.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand;
but it won’t come near you.
Only keep your eyes open,
and you will see how the wicked are punished. (CJB)
And yet reading from God’s Word this morning, we are reminded that if we cling to that secret place – that abode of protection, one will not fear the terrors of night or the arrow that flies by during the day. Keep your eyes upon Him.
God is in control. No matter how chaotic it gets in the atmosphere that surrounds you – God is in control.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
Heavenly Father, So many times you have told us to not be fearful – to trust in you and yet at times, we open up the floodgates of fear and allow it to take us away – far away from you. Lord, may we constantly remind ourselves of your protection – your safety that surrounds us. Help us to cling to your promises. May we trust in you alone. I love you, Lord. I ask this in Christ Jesus’ name, amen.
I love this song and this video – the land reminds me of a path that was on our property in Montana. Whenever I walked that path, there was no doubt in my mind that God was with me. May you feel that same peace today.
