Just Calm Yourselves Down

So many times we just wear ourselves out trying to do battle that isn’t even ours to do.

Over the years, the Lord has shown me how to find rest in Him. Teaching me how to let go of things that I can’t control and handing those fears and those conflicts over to Him and to just rest in Him. It is a simple verse and yet packed with power and wisdom:

Exodus 14:14 – “Adonai will do battle for you. Just calm yourselves down!” (CJB)

It never fails that we get ourselves into trouble when we don’t stand back and let God fight our battles for us – we get worked up and then just turn plain ugly.  Ugly!

I think most people today would agree there is a lot of ugly going on here. In the coming days, I pray that you seek rest in Him and allow Him to soothe your souls.

Remember, God has His children’s backs – let Him fight the battle for you.  Stay calm.  Rest in Him.

Heavenly Father, Thank you for this reminder once again to calm myself down and just rest in You. There is a great battle going on in the heavenlies and is being playing out in the natural world because the battle is ferocious to destroy us. Father, help us to remember that You are in control. Always. Thank you for Your Peace. I love, Lord. I ask this in Christ Jesus’ name, amen.
