What Has Your Disbelief Cost You?

Advent is a Season of Believing.  It is a season of remembering.  It is a season of love.

Why?

Because many, many years ago, a Savior was born.  A Savior who would come as a small baby and grow up and show us the way back to the Father.

Lantern and Advent

Do you believe in Him?

I am reminded today, as I read about the most wonderful Christmas present ever given to mankind.

I share part of the story with you today – involving Zechariah – a man who did not believe:

Zechariah asked the angel, “How do you expect me to believe this? I’m an old man and my wife is too old to give me a child. What sign can you give me to prove this will happen?”  Then the angel said, “I am Gabriel. I stand beside God himself. He has sent me to announce to you this good news.  But now, since you did not believe my words, you will be stricken silent and unable to speak until the day my words have been fulfilled at their appointed time and a child is born to you. That will be your sign!     (Luke 1:18-20)

Zechariah was struck dumb by the angel for disbelief.

It made me considered that maybe there have been times in my life that I may have been struck with something because of my disbelief.

It is definitely a question worth considering today.

Have you ever been struck down because of your disbelief?

I ask you today – what is your life focused upon?

I would also encourage you to go to the Father and ask Him if there is any unbelief stuck away in your heart.  And then give Him the time to respond.

May your heart be filled with belief this Christmas Season.  May your heart grow stronger each day in knowing who you are in Christ Jesus.  Give thanks that you truly know Him.

My Song:  This is my most favorite song of the Advent Season.  Listen to its words and be blessed today – knowing that you know Him.
