When the truth-giving Spirit comes, he will unveil the reality of every truth within you.
For way too many years, I bought into the concept of religion. Lots of rules. Lots of admonition. Lots of do what I say. Lots of you gotta look good.
It seemed it wasn’t so much about living for the Lord as it was about looking good to the world and to one another.
THEN, I opened up my heart to what Jesus had to say to me. I wanted His Truth. His Ways. His Life. His Light.

WHEN I opened up the Word, I saw some contradictions to what I had heard about the Heavenly Father – Jesus – Holy Spirit.
NOW I run into his Presence daily, anticipating what golden nuggets he has just for me.
LIFE has never been the same since I opened up to a relationship with the Father.
My prayers are that you will be released from religion too. That you can live from the standpoint of freedom in Jesus Christ.
Let’s take a look at the Scripture today:
Instead your hearts are filled with sadness because I’ve told you these things. But here’s the truth: It’s to your advantage that I go away, for if I don’t go away the Divine Encourager will not be released to you. But after I depart, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will expose sin and prove that the world is wrong about God’s righteousness and his judgments. “‘Sin,’ because they refuse to believe in who I am. “God’s ‘righteousness,’ because I’m going back to join the Father and you’ll see me no longer. “And ‘judgment’ because the ruler of this dark world has already received his sentence. “There is so much more I would like to say to you, but it’s more than you can grasp at this moment. But when the truth-giving Spirit comes, he will unveil the reality of every truth within you. He won’t speak his own message, but only what he hears from the Father, and he will reveal prophetically to you what is to come. He will glorify me on the earth, for he will receive from me what is mine and reveal it to you. – John 16:6-14 (TPT)
The word “but” touched my heart today within the Scriptures:
- But here’s the truth
- But after I depart
- But it’s more that you can grasp at this moment
- But when the truth-giving Spirit comes
- But only what he hears from the Father
The Holy Spirit is important to our growth – our faith – our trust – our love in Jesus Christ. He has a role in each believer’s life. IF we snuff out the light that is within us, our growth will be stunted. We will no longer be able to carry the light into a dark world.
Let these words sink deep into your soul today.
My song. He put the light in me. Today, I pray that others can see that light within me. That I freely and gladly let his light shine through me. I am so glad that the Holy Spirit lives inside of me. Are you?
Relationship makes all the difference.
