Do you have any gifts that you have not used?
I did.
I am talking about spiritual gifts. The gifts the Heavenly Father has given to you to serve others with.

I was reading from 1 Peter 4 this morning. It seems that the more I read God’s Word, the more revelation that is opened up to me.
1 Peter 4:8-11: Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. (NIV)
How does one serve if others say that their gifts are of no use for today?
God’s Word tells me to minister to others using the gifts that he gave me.
I asked the Lord this morning, “Oh Poppa, do I just go to church and just sit in silence – pretending that I am someone else? Do I just go to please man? Do I pretend that I have another gift? Poppa, what should I do?”
His response? “Read my Words once again and obey.”
Plain and simple.
So that is what I intend to do. Minister to anyone who is willing to allow me to do so. Go through each day waiting to see who God sends my way.
As I sat and thought about a song to share today, this one by Casting Crowns came to mind. For you see, I am getting older. I am 68 years old. And I want to leave this world one day, knowing that I followed him. That I obeyed him.
Once I sat in churches, silent and refrained and pretending. Pretending to be someone that I was not. For way too many years, I pleased man. It seemed to make life easier. BUT once I started truly seeking God to know him – to have relationship with him, I realized that I could no longer sit in silence anymore – pretending – to be what I was not.
There is no turning back. For me, I will be on the bi-ways and the hi-ways looking for those that God sends my way and willingly giving direction to Jesus – so he can direct them to the Heavenly Father. I will use my gifts that my Father gave me and use them for his glory alone. I pray that this touches your heart and soul today and gives you courage to follow after Jesus doing what he created you to do for the Kingdom of Heaven.
