Unfolding God’s Word – Day 9

Brotherly Love.  How do we express brotherly love to one another in today’s world?

It is hard to not allow emotions to run our lives – our daily thoughts.  Beware.  Emotions can be damaging.  We get watered down.  The enemy can come in and put thoughts into our heads that are not true.

You may ask what I mean by that, but its best to not go too deep in that – not today.  But once you know how the enemy operates, you learn how to side-step his ways.

One of his favorites (without getting off course) is: “Once they know that about you – no one will want you.”

The enemy loves to destroy – to kill – to leave us empty and afraid.

That is why you must be careful.  The enemy is all about destroying relationships.  THEN, you forget how to express brotherly love to one another.  THEN your  testimonies of faith and of grace and of love and of peace are destroyed – no longer useful.

Hebrews 13:1-3 – Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies.(NLT)

In unfolding God’s Word to these Scriptures – what is God calling us to do?

  • Keep our love on for one another as brothers and sisters in Christ,
  • Show hospitality to strangers
  • Remember those in prison – as if it was you behind those bars
  • Remember those who have been mistreated – as if you felt their pain in your own bodies.

Don’t get caught up in the hatred. Remember what you have been called to do.  Stop pointing your fingers and throwing stones at one another.  Ask God’s forgiveness and then move forward in a different mind set.

Love in the Sand

Get alone with God and ask Him to show you if there is anything that you need to make right in a relationship with another person.  If He convicts you, then ask Him to show you what the next step is that you should take.

IT IS TIME!

My Song:  Forgiveness.  It is one of the hardest things to do in life.  To forgive.  There are many times throughout my life that I have held on to my hurts – refusing to forgive.  Emotions have ruled in my life.  But there is another way.  And it starts with forgiveness.  Freedom comes in forgiveness.
