Listen for the Voice of God. Acknowledge and praise Him.
Don’t harden your hearts that you no longer hear Him.
Psalm 95:
Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
For the Lord is a great God, a great King above all gods.
He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains.
The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too.

Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care.
If only you would listen to his voice today!
The Lord says, “Don’t harden your hearts as Israel did at Meribah, as they did at Massah in the wilderness. For there your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw everything I did. For forty years I was angry with them, and I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’ So in my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest.'” (NLT)
We had a cabin in the mountains of Montana. The cabin was small and rustic, but the beauty of Creation that surrounded that little cabin was breathtaking. Standing on the porch of the cabin, we could see the Beartooth Mountains and the Crazy Mountains. The sunsets there would drop you to your knees in praise of God. There was a ravine that ran through the bottom of the property that would make you feel like you just walked into Yellowstone National Park. It had a long, winding road that led you to the bottom of the ravine, but well worth the time to walk down.
As we neared the bottom of the ravine, we would stop and listen to the sounds of the wind start to rise up. A breeze fluttered across our faces that made us smile and wonder if God just touched us. Once we were down in the bottom of the ravine and we were sitting on a bench, the sound of the wind moved in closer and closer. Then came the beautiful sound of the birds and other wildlife that were calling out to one another with praise for their Heavenly Father. With eyes closed, we could feel the arms of God wrapping around us and saying, “Stay a little while with me and enjoy the beauty of my voice as I serenade you with my Creation.” Oh how glorious it is to experience God in His beauty. To not only hear but understand His voice. To know that we are His and that He is ours.

My question for you today: Why would you not want to hear the voice of God? Don’t reject Him. Don’t reject His Holy Spirit. Seek Him today and ask Him to teach you how hear His Voice.
I share another song today from my childhood. I was amazed and I am still amazed by that song. We sang about walking with God and talking with God and yet, when we left church no one believed that God talked with us. Why did we sing that song if we didn’t believe?
Believe in Him. Listen for His Voice. Read Psalm 29 today about the Voice of God. Then listen. He is found in all Creation.
Heavenly Father, I thank you and praise you for the wonderful gift of our cabin. For years, we were able to feel you surround us with your love and your protection. You made yourself known to us and we are forever thankful. I pray today for others to desire to hear Your Voice in Creation. Make yourself known to them. I love you, Lord. I ask this in Christ Jesus’ name, amen.
I have always loved this song and sung it in times of deep pain and sorrow. Thank you for it today when I feel so off-kilter still. I truly need a walk in the garden today.
